Rapture?

I believe there are many people who are deceived by the idea of a rapture. Now I am not saying it is entirely false, but the Bible does not present it in the way that modern day “Christianity” does. Who is right? Well, I like the Bible. If you have claimed to be a Christian for all your life or many years, or whether you are just researching, I want you to consider what I am about to write. I will use what many theologians believe to be true, and the Word of God to back it up. My goal is not to start an argument, I only wish to shed light of the need of repentance in being accredited a Christian. Oddly enough, the idea of a rapture makes people feel safer, as if they can live a life that is not godly and then on the last day, make it to heaven. Without further ado, let’s get into it.

36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left. 42 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him. – Matthew 24:36-44

Jesus is talking about the time he will come again, he says the day and time is unknown. However, he talks in a parallel sense to the flood, in the time of Noah. First off, he says that people were going about their day as if nothing was expected, and out of nowhere, the flood came and “took them away”. Who did the flood take away? The wicked. He elaborates on this later as well, saying “Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left” and “Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left” and then goes into talking about how we do not know when the end would come. Why would Jesus waste time explaining this to those who did not have to worry? That is illogical, he is making it clear that this message is to those who have not repented. That is why he compares it to the flood. The wicked will be taken first!

In case that was not enough proof for you, he iterated this earlier in Matthew as well. let’s look.

24 Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. 26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. 27 “The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did, the weeds come from?’ 28 “‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. “The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ 29 “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time, I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’” Matthew 13:24-30

The good seed is all the people of God, true disciples. However, Satan plants “weeds” or, wicked people and false Christians mixed with the actual Christians. Therefore, it is so difficult to know who is a true Christian nowadays to many people. However, if you are a true follower, it is not too difficult to spot fakes. Jesus expected this to happen and knew it would. His servants are the angels who follow him. They wanted to know if they should just smite the whole populous of wicked people, and Jesus said no. Because of Jesus love for all of mankind, he wanted to give them a chance to repent. It is important to note that once again, Jesus says to collect the weeds(wicked people) first, tie them up in bundles to be burned, then to gather the wheat (fully matured disciples) and bring them into his barn. This reiterates what we just learned in Matthew 24. Another saying by Jesus closely resembles what we just read:

“Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.”-Matthew 24:30-31

What we learn here is that, Jesus will come at an unexpected hour, not even he knows what that is, but he is coming. Those who are of this world will mourn and cry when he comes because they will fear for themselves. However, God’s true disciples will have nothing to worry about, just as God saved them through the ark thousands of years ago, so shall he again. However, the evil, along with fake Christians will be the ones who disappear on the last day, tied up to be thrown into hell. As Paul stated:

“29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.” 31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10:29-31

Just because we have grace, does not mean we can do whatever we want. Grace gives us a chance and it is why we are even able to be saved! (Titus 2:12) So, Ephesians 2:8 is saying, if we are saved in the end, it was because we had grace through Christ! Not that we are saved because grace and nothing else. Otherwise, you could cut that one scripture out of the Bible and put it on your refrigerator and throw the rest of the Bible away! It will be a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God, so I beg for you to repent NOW! If you do not know what a true disciple is, please check my churches website and find the nearest member of our movement near you. You will only hear the Bible, not teachings of men that are watered down. I hope and pray that this will help someone understand God’s plan for repentance and his love for those who follow him.
